This performance area entails pursuing the policy of wealth creation, stimulation of economic development and realization of food security through agriculture, fishery, apiary and forestry. AMF recognizes that agriculture and forestry form the production backbones of Maridi and are the primary pillars for economic development and wealth creation. Thus, AMF strives to lay the necessary foundations that will in a long run transform Maridi to become a model for agricultural production; forest conservation and management; beekeeping and honey production; and fish, poultry and animal farming in order to ensure food security hence exporting the surplus.


The first track entails broad base mobilization for agricultural production in order to ensure food security and surplus for marketing. A awareness building is thus critical in order to change community mindsets to accept new opportunities; reactivation of all the extension services in Maridi; creation and organization of agricultural and farm villagers and settlement; encouraging the creation of cooperative unions and enhancement of capacities of the existing cooperatives. AMF therefore assists to reorganize the community settlements through planning and surveys in order to meet internationally accepted standards of human settlement as well as of agricultural villages.

The second track entails the acquisition of seeds and agricultural implements such as tractors in order to increase production.
The third track entails the construction of at least two (3) Agro Warehouses in Maridi along with the necessary storage management systems in order to facilitate safe storage of seeds and of food surplus for marketing. The Agro-warehouses will also store food allocated for the enhancement of food security within Maridi.
The fourth track entails the provision of necessary capacities in the form of trainings and study tours in the areas of Agriculture, forestry, animal production, apiary, poultry and fisheries.
The fifth track entails the establishment and operationalization of Agricultural research stations.
The sixth track entails the production of other resources available in Maridi as well as promoting animal husbandry, poultry and fish farms in order to increase and enhance the production of high value protein products in the forms of meat, fish, eggs and chicken for food security and for the markets.
The seventh track entails the conservation and management of forests in a sustainable manner as guided by the relevant laws and regulations.
The eigth track entails increasing rigorous introduction and marketing of Maridi products to external markets.
